Is this course for me?

The course has been developed specifically for those teaching history and for those in supporting roles, e.g. education advisers, museum educators and NGO workers. The intercultural approach can be adapted to any national or international context of history education, and the University had students from all five continents.

All of the core and optional modules are offered as credit-bearing Short courses. This is an ideal option if you're keen to update your professional knowledge, enhance your career or sample the programme. The Short course fee per module is £1,000.

Comprehensive study materials and support

Working from your own home and/or place of work, you will access the Online Learning Environment (OLE) and will be guided through your study materials by your tutor. You will take part in discussions and activities within the OLE with your tutor and other students.

There is also a similar course in Citizenship Education and students may combine modules across the two programmes.  The programme builds on the UK DfES Certificate of Teaching of Citizenship. Those who complete this certificate gain automatic exemption from one optional module.
